Year 6 enjoyed watching the BBC Live Super Movers lesson today from Anfield. Getting active whilst improving our maths!
Y6 are following explorer Ben Saunders's blog as part of their Antarctica topic. There was great excitement today as he answered some of their questions all the way from Antarctica. https://bensaunders.com/into-82/
Ben is attempting to make the first solo, unsupported and unassisted crossing of Antarctica. This west-to-east traverse from Berkner Island to the Ross Ice Shelf via the South Pole was planned by Ben’s friend Lt Col Henry Worsley, who nearly completed the expedition before falling ill and passing away in hospital in Chile in January 2016.
Ben reached the South Pole on 29th December. He decided to end his journey there due to not having as much food as he had planned. Read his blog from the South Pole here. http://bensaunders.com/at-the-bottom-of-the-world/
His final blog included some responses to questions from our very own Ben. How fantastic to be able to communicate with the South Pole. http://bensaunders.com/last-night-antarctica/
